Windermere Lake Cruises - sail from Bowness Piers throughout the year offering a variety of trips including: Full or Half Lake cruises, Islands Cruise, Steam Railway and Cruise, Boat and bus trip to Hill Top and Hawkeshead. The Piers are approximately 150 yards from Virginia Cottage.

Located 1 mile from Cartmell famous for the racecourse and National Hunt racing.

Beatrix Potter Attraction – only 200 yards from Virginia Cottage this is the only official Peter Rabbit attraction in the UK. Recently refurbished all 23 tales are brought to life, from Mr Mcgregor’s garden to the woodland glade. A new multi screen presentation with interactive virtual walks guide you through the pioneering life of Miss Potter.
